"Here where the sea shines".
In the words of a timeless classic of Italian music such as "Caruso" by Lucio Dalla and immersed in the setting of Piazza Grande in Modena, an important event will take place tonight in memory of what is considered one of the greatest artists in the history of our country: Luciano Pavarotti.

Pavarotti: a great man

Nine years after the tenor's death, the Luciano Pavarotti Foundation, in collaboration with the Municipality of Modena, has decided to carry on the struggle of an artist, of a man who all his life tried to help the poor in the world, with particular attention to children.
Who does not remember the Pavarotti and Friends? Shows entered the history of music thanks to the participation of great artists such as Zucchero, Eric Clapton, Ramazzotti, Ligabue, Bono Vox, Boccelli, BB King and many others, whose sole purpose was to raise funds for the needy.
In fact, Pavarotti left a great legacy to Italy and to the whole world, which is not only made up of sounds and emotions, but also of a solidarity and generosity of spirit that are part of our cultural heritage. So what better way to remember this good giant than to carry on his great dream?
On his deathbed, the tenor would have said: “A life spent for music is a life spent well. Remember me as an opera singer ”.
But Pavarotti's true spiritual testament goes beyond these words, it also goes beyond his music which was a means and not an end, a system for conveying culture, beauty, wonder, to show the world that art, the real one. , it cannot be detached from the humanity of its message.
However, when you read the title of the event it is impossible not to remember the interpretation that the tenor made of "Caruso", a poignant music, full of love and melancholy that takes the minds of listeners far away, to an indefinite place where space and time they do not exist anymore.
One day Montale, who asked what poetry was, replied: "Poetry is such because it carries its secret." In the same way it could be said that Pavarotti's music, beyond its human and humanitarian value, also has something mysterious, an invisible and impalpable force, as elusive as water, which presses the most hidden keys of the human spirit.

the event

In addition to the purely musical discourse, this evening's event assumes even greater importance if placed in the current context, in fact it is precisely the refugees who crowd our country in these days, the victims of an absurd war, to which the artist Modenese dedicated his music and for this reason "Here where the sea shines" will be sponsored by the High Commissioner of the United Nations.
The event, conducted by Fabio Volo and which will see the participation of artists such as Nek, Elio e le Storie Tese, Danilo Rea and Silvia Colombini, will be broadcast in full on Rai Radio2.
