After a long time expectation the city crowned Italian Capital of Culture 2024 has finally been proclaimed. It is Pesaro, which has managed to get the better of a plethora of finalists, here are:

- Chioggia
- Sestri Levante with the Tigullio
- Union of Municipalities Paestum-Alto Cilento
- Vicenza
- Ascoli Piceno
To this large group are added two other cities, which we report separately because they had found space in a sort of podium. The final choice seemed to be linked to these three cities: Pesaro, winner, Viareggio e Grosseto. We remind you that the title is awarded for a period of one year. The city will have the opportunity to take advantage of a rich prize of one million euros, designed for the realization of a cultural project of great value.
Capital of culture 2024: the Pesaro project
The dossier presented by Pesaro and awarded by the judging commission has as its theme The nature of culture. The basic idea is to encourage the development of technologies that always take environmental needs into account: “To seek new reasons for art in the forms of creation suggested by natural processes; recognize Nature as a community of subjects to interact with, to renew human policies in terms of inclusiveness open to all living beings, breaking down social, economic and gender disparities, physical and cultural distances ".
A decidedly current vision, considering the energy crisis we are experiencing. Here are the five sections into which the project is divided:
