Not only Pfizer, AstraZeneca e Modern, Italy also has its own vaccine against Covid-19 and this could be ready by the summer. It was to announce it Franco Locatelli, Chairman of the Superior Health Council, host of the show "What's the weather like"of Fabio Fazio. Italian vaccine ReiThera, developed in collaboration with the institute Spallanzani di Roma, “Has already finished the 1 phase. According to what was declared by prof. Locatelli "the data would be promising for safety and immunological response with no difference between young and old and very good and superior to that of healed subjects". This is therefore good news in the fight against the virus, which would allow us to have many more doses available, to vaccinate as many people as possible in the shortest possible time.

Italian vaccine ReiThera, English variant Covid-19 and vaccine campaign: where we are

Despite the comforting data, however, it will be necessary to wait a few more months before the Italian vaccine of ReiThera, developed with the Spallanzani pass le stages 2 e 3 and get approval of the EMA (hoping that everything goes well). The first vaccines to be distributed in Italy, since end of December, will be those of Pfizer and, subsequently, of Moderna and AstraZeneca. All these vaccines will still have to deal with the new one English variant of Covid-19 which appears to have a higher transmission speed. Fortunately, always the prof. Locatelli wanted to calm the minds, declaring that the vaccines already exist they will not lose their effectiveness and they will still be valid to fight this too mutated version of Covid-19, on the other hand already arrived in Italy and in other European countries, such as Denmark e Netherlands.

The real problem, however, concerns the vaccine campaign in Italy. According to a recent survey by SWG for the programAir that Pulls (La7), the 34% of respondents would not be willing to get vaccinated. If this percentage were to be confirmed, it could be more difficult block the circulation of the virus in the country. To ensure that theherd immunity, it is in fact necessary that the greatest number of people immunize themselves from Covid-19. Vaccines such as those of Pfizer, AstraZeneca, Moderna and ReiThera, are therefore essential to be able to get out of this nightmare, which has marked our 2020. The 27th December will be the day of "Vaccine-Day"In Europe, the first step to leave behind one of the saddest years of recent times and welcome a 2021 of hope, for a return to what was once our normality.
