The Aosta Valley it is an immense nature reserve with its high peaks, its wide valleys, perched villages and suggestive medieval castles. In fact, this small valley wedged in the ice guards a natural heritage of rare beauty, protected by a system of protected areas. Two national parks, that of Gran Paradiso and that of the Mont Avic. But also numerous reserves and four Alpine botanical gardens. The verdant landscapes of woods and meadows everywhere offer unforgettable sensations to nature lovers. The White Mountain

In Valle d'Aosta there is the Mont Blanc, the highest peak in Europe, one of the most evocative and exciting spectacles created by nature. At the foot of this giant stands Courmayeur, a tourist resort of international importance, which retains an authentic alpine atmosphere and attracts thousands of visitors, thanks to its worldly aspect and the numerous possibilities for recreation and relaxation it offers.

The Alps

Immersed in this wonderful nature, Cervinia it is renowned for the beauty of its landscapes and the variety of ski slopes. Also the second highest peak in Europe, the Monte Rosa, is located in this region. Here the mountains seem to cry out for mountaineers, as if they were the way to touch the sky, giving the feeling of going beyond the borders of the earth. Not surprisingly, the first school for mountain guides was born here. Valle d'Aosta is a privileged destination for fans of winter sports and not only. The state-of-the-art facilities and the numerous activities that can be carried out attract tourists from all over the world. The Gran Paradiso National Park, the first Italian national park, is home to the noblest species of alpine fauna in its marvelous woods. Golden eagles, chamois, marmots and the ibex. Inside the enchanted park Cogne and the waterfalls of Lillaz, offer a spectacle of immeasurable beauty and are easily accessible thanks to the numerous paths.

History and traditions

A hinge between Italy and Europe, the Aosta Valley was, at least until the mid-sixteenth century, a nodal meeting point of European cultural currents. Fortified architecture, medieval villages, churches and chapels full of artistic treasures are scattered throughout the area. The Aosta Valley is rich in jealously guarded traditions, especially in the areas further away from the tourist centers and each valley has its own characteristic customs. Aosta Valley cuisine is a set of ancient dishes handed down over the centuries. The flagship are the renowned grappas and fine wines.
