Since last 24 February i winds of war they also blew threateningly in Europe. L'Putin's attack on Ukraine shocked the world, not yet recovered from the tragedy of Covid-19. THE'Italy, together with the others EU countries, immediately took action to help the many Ukrainians who found themselves overnight war refugees, without a home and with the fear of dying at the hands of Russian bombs falling from the sky still in the eyes. In these weeks of emergency, the city of Novara (like all the Piemonte) is making its contribution in terms of hospitality and more. The city of Antonellian dome it was in fact the first in Italy to welcome gods refugee children in a kindergarten. The peer institution Sacred Heart of Novara has in fact welcomed 4 children (with their moms), run away from war in Ukraine and departed city of Ivano-Frankivs'k.
Other initiatives are also active in the city. For example, in recent days, eight means of the service Novara veterinary ambulance they left for Ukraine carrying medicine, clothes, blankets, sleeping bags, food e medicines for animals. Same volunteers they have already left for Piedmont, taking with them some Ukrainian families in difficulty. Some refugees who fled the war in Ukraine have also already arrived in Novara, to be reunited with their loved ones, and have been welcomed in an emergency center. However the mayor Alexander Canelli has issued an announcement to find new accommodations useful for hosting Ukrainian families.
Aid against the war in Ukraine: entities and donations in Novara
Immediately after the outbreak of the war in Ukraine the Novarese Community Foundation Onlus activated the Ukraine Emergency Fund. It is a fundraiser to support hospitality projects and give concrete help to Ukrainian refugees escape from the nightmare that the country is experiencing. Like all wars the iRussian invasion of Ukraine it leaves behind a trail of death and immense pain. This conflict is causing only destruction (of lives, cities and an entire nation), but the closeness that Italy and much of the world is showing towards the Ukrainian people is a clear sign of how solidarity can win over the horrors of war. Staying human is possible. Helping and welcoming those in difficulty is everyone's moral duty, hoping that it will soon be reached medium-high pace. Every gesture of solidarity, small as it may be, is useful to help those fleeing the war, victims of a destiny that they have not chosen and which, unfortunately, cannot change. Give peace a chance.
