AISM is involved in a widespread manner throughout the national territory. It is important that the focus on research does not decrease, rather that if we talk about it, to help the sick have a better quality of life.
Multiple sclerosis is a serious, chronic, disabling and unpredictable disease of the central nervous system; for this reason the families who live this "status" every day need continuous support. In this regard, it is important to support and promote Aism's values throughout the territory to get to the point of defeating multiple sclerosis soon. Unfortunately it is one of the most serious diseases of the central nervous system, chronic, unpredictable and progressively disabling.
The disease mainly affects the age group between 20 and 40, ie young people in the project life period. Multiple sclerosis it doesn't have a cure yet, but science is making great strides.
Multiple sclerosis and treatments
The initiative that will peacefully "invade" the squares of Italy, enjoys the High Patronage of the Presidency of the Republic; aims to raise funds for important projects of the charity. As every year, more than 10.000 volunteers will take to the streets to distribute lots of 1,8 kg bags of apples.
You can choose between the golden, the smith, or the delicious, to take home, knowing that you have done something beautiful and profitable. In exchange for the bag, a minimum donation of € 9,00 is requested, for support research that fights sclerosis. Nonetheless, we want to implement the health and social services necessary to improve the quality of life of sick people. The funds raised through national events make it possible to guarantee a lot of support every year to scientific research of excellence and you cannot slow down. Not only that, but also the activities that AISM carries out for sick people are fundamental.
AISM volunteers
Volunteers are never enough and there are many things that those who cannot move freely need. So, from Friday 4 to Sunday 6 October Aism returns with "An apple against multiple sclerosis". The stalls of the Italian Multiple Sclerosis Association characterized by red will be unmistakable. The Italian AISM counts a lot on the energy and enthusiasm of many volunteers to raise awareness among the public to support the Association, because research needs funding.
The goal of finding a cure for sclerosis must not be far off; improving the quality today of life of the 70.000 people affected by it in our country!
