With the 2022 edition, the Comics Festival of Rome come back to the City of the Other Economy in Testaccio. Open to the public from 13 to 15 May, Argh! will give great artists and great surprises, with a rich program.
What we will see at the Comics Festival
Just as Stefano Piccoli, artistic director of the festival, writes, the most beautiful comic festival of Roma. There will be six exhibitions scheduled, each dedicated to great cartoonists. What will you see? First of all, "Icons " di Carmine Di Giandomenico. World famous artist, appreciated by US publishers such as Marvel and DC Comics, the cartoonist from Abruzzo signs the poster for this edition of Arf! Then "The paper houses"of Paco Roca. Considered the greatest exponent of contemporary Spanish comics, the Iberian artist arrives in Rome for the first time exhibiting a production consisting of 90 original works (created in collaboration with the Cervantes Institute in Rome and the Directorate General for Contemporary Creativity of the Ministry of Culture) .
At the Comics Festival there will also be "YY · BB ”by Yi Yang. Although very young, the Chinese cartoonist is conquering the Italian comics thanks to its European taste. Among his most significant works, “Easy Breeze” and the “Dylan Dog Color Fest”. Ample space will also be given to 30 years of Comix. The former magazine, which later became a brand of Panini, it is considered a giant of Italian comics thanks to the drawings, words, signs & drawings by Bonvi, Silver, Magnus, Jacovitti, Cinzia Leone, Disegni & Caviglia and Silvia Ziche. The tables dedicated to Comix's thirtieth anniversary will be exhibited in the classrooms of the nearby Academy of Fine Arts in Rome. To close the present exhibitions that of the winner of Bartoli Award Lorenzo Mo (formerly "Best Promise of Italian Comics" in the 2019 edition) e Sel ARF!, section dedicated to independent productions, represented by the visionary and colorful works of David Bart Salvemini. The hall also returns for the eighth year Talk, a real trademark of ARF !, kept alive by numerous guests. This year the room will have the pleasure of hosting the likes of Silvia Ziche, Silver and Otto Scmidt.
