Italy is an ancient country and therefore rich in legends. That of the Ca 'delle anime is particularly intriguing. To find this place it is necessary to go to the heights above Voltri, in the province of GenoVa, to be precise in Via dei Giovi.
The latter is a rather particular road, considering how it was once widely practiced. Centuries ago, in fact, merchants and pilgrims, forced to devalue, used it to reach Genoa. Their presence, however, soon began to attract brigands. This area has therefore been at the center of numerous stories of robberies, kidnappings, mysterious disappearances and murders. A very isolated place, almost completely devoid of buildings. During the Middle Ages there was only one inn, which was suitable for resting both travelers and i malicious brigands. That place still exists and is the Ca 'delle anime.
Ca 'delle anime, the deception of the innkeepers
For merchants, pilgrims and wayfarers there was really no hope of coming out of the Ca 'delle souls without any damage. The reason is soon revealed. The danger of robbers was inherent in the structure, since the first criminals were the innkeepers themselves. Unbeknownst to everyone, they were the real culprits for the mysterious disappearances. They had devised a very ingenious ploy, which for a long time allowed them to get rich.
The "disappeared" people were actually brutally killed. To do this, a complex mechanism was used, which allowed the ceiling of a given room to lower on the unfortunate traveler, up to crush him in his sleep or kill him by asphyxiation. The rest of the gang then took care of getting rid of the body, buried nearby, and then devote themselves to recovering his belongings. A strategy that went on for a long time, until the stories of disappearances and ghosts alerted the authorities. The gang was thus arrested, framed by the large number of corpses found in the surrounding land.
Paranormal stories
After the forced closure following the arrest, the inn was completely uninhabited for a long time. No one was going to set foot in the "cursed inn". His bad reputation lasted for hundreds of years, until the second after war. A disgraced family decided to settle there, having no alternatives.
Soon, however, very strange things began to happen. Animated doors, objects found in different places and screams and moans in the middle of the night. Terrifying verses that came from the old guest rooms and the garden.
The story goes that one evening the ghost of a young woman. He was looking for the lover killed by the innkeepers. Realizing his absence, it dissolved, leaving behind a scent of roses. All this was too much to accept even for a family in financial difficulty. The group, in fact, soon decided to move. A well-known story in the area, to the point of pushing Rai to produce a short themed service for the program “Strange facts of ordinary people”. A movie that gives some thrills in the final stretch, showing an evanescent image that recalls that young deceased in love.
