Does the Land of Toys really exist? In this 2021 it takes the form of How to Live Aligned with. The city turns into a sort of open-air amusement park. A magical place where every adult is allowed to turn into children. The lights envelop everything and throw different colors everywhere.
The inauguration of the City of Toys took place on November 27th. An extraordinary event that transforms Como into an enchanted world. Everything is illuminated thanks to the Magic Light Festival. The show thus begins with numerous markets that wind through the entire area of the historic center.
Como is the City of Toys
Como celebrates the 28th edition of the City of Toys. An unmissable event for all citizens and tourists. Everywhere it will be possible to appreciate chalets, decorations and wooden houses. Every corner is illuminated in this gigantic attraction. Undoubtedly, the Magic Light Festival plays the leading role, but what does it consist of? Extraordinary images are projected on the buildings and squares of the historic center. The play of lights transform Como into an open-air museum. This is where the magic of Christmas can be felt, just like in a movie.
The program initially envisages the lighting of piazza del Duomo, followed by part of the lakeside promenade. Slowly it is the whole city that gets involved in this game. A way to drag all present into a fantastic universe, where you can let your imagination free to wander, as in a dream. You can decide to wander the streets or take part in some of the activities available, from the skating rink to the Ferris wheel. The latter, specifically, allows a view over the entire majestic Como. A way to treat yourself to a magical and romantic moment at the same time.
One of the most important elements of the Toy Town of Como is undoubtedly the Christmas market. This finds space between the main streets of the city, culminating in the sparkling Christmas tree located in Piazza Grimoldi, festively lit by hundreds of LED lights. To enrich the atmosphere there are choirs, shows and events of various kinds. These will follow one another between main streets and squares.
The program of the City of Toys
From 27 November to 6 January off to a large series of events in the beautiful Como:
- Magic Light Festival: plays of lights invade the main squares and streets of the city. Visitors will enter the atmosphere of a fairy forest. Architectural projections transform the city into an open-air gallery (every day from 17.30 pm)
- Ice rink: in via Corridoni inside the Christmas Gardens (weekdays 10.00-19.30; Fridays, Saturdays and holidays, and from 23 December, 10.00-21.00)
- Ferris wheel: in the Christmas Gardens (Holidays and pre-holidays 10.30-12.30 and 14.30-19.30; Weekdays 15.30-18.30)
- Apple caterpillar: in the Christmas Gardens (weekdays 14.00-22.00; Saturdays and holidays and from 23 December 10.00-22.00).
