La Delta variant continues to worry Italy and the world. For this reason, the Draghi government has thought of more restrictive measures to contain the spread of the virus and avoid a future "fourth wave". At the end of the Cabinet yesterday and after consultation with the Regions, the Prime Minister, Mario Draghi, announced at the press conference that from the next August 6th, the mandatory green pass to be able to access bars and restaurants indoors, but not only. To date, in fact, the green pass is required only to participate in trade fairs, weddings, feasts or enter the residences for the elderly. To avoid coming yellow areas, the government also changed the thresholds for color change of the Regions. These will no longer be based on the number of infections, but on the number of beds employed in hospitals.
Compulsory green pass: where you will have to show
Summer 2021 will therefore be marked by green pass. As already mentioned, even in the white area the green pass will be mandatory for lunch or dinner in restaurants or to consume indoors at the bar. In addition, the green certification must be exhibited for enter museums e international, attend shows, institutional events, e sports competitions (in stadiums for example, even if the number of admissions could be greater than today), participate in indoor activities of cultural centers, enter the wellness centers or indoor sports facilities (like le gyms eg), game rooms, betting rooms And in the spas. In addition, the pass will be required to access the RSA, Exhibitions, festivals, conferences , Congress e amusement parks. The discos will still remain closed. Finally, the green pass will be a necessary requirement to be able to participate in competitions, feasts e parties. To date, public transport is excluded.
How the colors of the Regions change
As for the parameters to change the color of the Regions, to stay in white area, threshold of hospitalizations must stop below 15%, while that of intensive therapies below 10%. Exceeding this threshold will trigger the yellow zone. Instead, it will go into orange zone 30% of hospitalizations and 20% of intensive care. Instead, in the case of the red zone, threshold of hospitalizations is fixed to 40%, while for intensive therapies the threshold is al 30%. Finally it state of emergency, whose end was set for 31 July, was extended until 31th December 2021.
The mandatory green pass, even if it might seem a constraint, is, quoting Draghi himself, "a condition to be able to reopen". The vaccination is important so that the Delta variant does not spread even more in our country (or new, more dangerous variants arrive). This is the only way to defeat the virus and return to that normality that today seems only a distant memory.
