The right to happiness of children it seems an obvious concept, but when the children in question suffer from serious or chronic diseases it can be really difficult to find a way that really puts them at ease.
Dynamo Camp
Founded in 2007 by the Dynamo Foundation, Dynamo Camp Onlus offers Recreational Therapy with specific assistance for slightly special children, creating opportunities for meeting and entertainment capable of restoring reality to guests sense of vacation. A very precious rarity for families who live a daily routine of hospitalizations and home therapies.
Contrary to what one might have feared at the beginning of the pandemic, this year the camp will also welcome young guests. As always, children will be accompanied in a natural but protected environment. There normality of the structure is its strength. Nonetheless, maximum safety is guaranteed, with invisible yet omnipresent medical assistance and the presence of highly qualified staff. There recreational therapy first of all foresees that children find again confidence in their abilities, experimenting with sport, contact with animals, creative workshops, theater and even the circus. Necessary stimuli, attention that the little ones should never lack - that's why even during an emergency the organization offered children and families an open web program, #HomeAsADynamo, creating specific routines for the associations that take care of children in difficulty during the year.
In Italy over 10000 minors are diagnosed with serious or chronic diseases every year. Vacation for them is a concept often unknown. And so for their families. The children are subjected to invasive or long-term therapies, often to intense periods of hospitalization, to complicated convalescences. Dynamo Camp Onlus' mission is to recognize to them the right to happiness signed by the World Health Organization.
The Recreational Therapy holiday offered by Dynamo also this year will be destined for children not accompanied by their parents but also for those who want to bring the whole family with them, brothers and sisters included. To date the pathologies hosted at Dynamo there are more than 70 and overall, since the project started in 2007, the Camp has seen 8800 children smile within its walls.
Dynamo Programs
The Dynamo Programs, ie the extra-camp Recreational Therapy activities, have involved 25.340 children in hospitals, associations and foster homes to date. All this was possible thanks to the involvement of 42.300 people.
Many are mobilizing in favor of the association. The support of Radio Deejay stands out among all for the twelfth consecutive year. At the beginning of the year Linus and Nicola Savino literally put themselves up for auction to raise funds for the association. Up for grabs 20 bike rides with Linus and 20 races with Nicola Savino. The radio has been carrying Dynamo Camp in its heart for years, and its message to the microphones: the right of all children to happiness. And never like this year a holiday will be of support to them, their mothers and their fathers. Let's donate, then.
