Genoa hosts Euroflora 2022, the international exhibition of flowers and ornamental plants. The expo opens to the public today, Saturday 23 April and will continue in the Parks and Museums of Nervi, until 8 May next.
Euroflora 2022
At the cutting of the ribbon there will be Mauro Ferrando, president of Old Port of Genoa Spa who organizes the event. Also present the Undersecretary for Ecological Transition Vannia Gava, the governor Ligurian Giovanni Toti and the mayor of Genoa Marco Bucci. Together with them many other authorities and institutional representatives. The ceremony will be preceded by the greeting ofUnicef ambassador Alessia Cotta Ramusino.
Many foreign countries participating
The group of foreign presences was rather nourished, with the important return of the Netherlands and Principality of Monaco with the Jardin Exotique. For the second time, China is participating with China Flower Expo, and France with the Floralies of Nantes, from this year twinned with Euroflora. And then Spain with a garden dedicated to the traditional event of city of Murcia, the Entierro de la Sardina. There is no shortage of United States with the city of Columbus (Ohio). The leitmotif of the entire event is water, with 18 fountains acting as a scenographic element and also producing a pleasant background sound. The jets will reach six meters in height in the largest fountains.
Euroflora, a journey into beauty
On the Euroflora website the description of the event is very fascinating and inviting. Below is an excerpt from the presentation: “Elegance, prestige, beauty. These are the style notes that have told Euroflora for over 50 years. In 2022 the most spectacular of the floral manifestations in Europe returns to GenoVa to give visitors a unique experience. Great protagonist is nature, in all its forms. Specimens with magnificent colors, bold floral geometries, works of art and exotic charm in an evocative context such as the Parks and Museums of Nervi.
