Fontana Forni on the roof of the world. The historic Laurentian company founded in 1946, leader in the sector of products for wood and gas cooking enthusiasts, reaches another extraordinary milestone. With the 'Piero' oven he won one of the most prestigious design awards in the world, the Good Design Award, the oldest recognition in terms of aesthetics and design innovation, established by the University of Architecture of Chicago, in the United States.
The coveted recognition is divided between the skills of the team of designers of the company from San Lorenzo in Campo, in the Marche region, and the young and well-known design studio of Whynot by Francesco Costacurta, based in Pordenone in Friuli.
When Fontana Forni turned to Whynot, the ideas were very clear. The company had technically developed two new concepts with strong innovative connotations and wanted 'dress them with a captivating look and able to enhance their uniqueness.
«'Piero' is a bi-fuel oven - explains the company satisfied - which guarantees the immediate transition from wood fire to gas without inconvenient assembly operations or component removal. Its shape was designed to recall the traditional dome of the pizza oven, interpreting it in a new key. Designed for a double installation method, with trolley or resting on pre-existing outdoor kitchens, 'Piero' maintains a contemporary and elegant design in both situations. Particular attention has been given to the design of the trolley; robust and functional, it integrates 4 solid sheet metal legs with perforated surfaces that give character to the product. The internal storage space of the trolley allows to house the wood and work accessories such as pots and utensils ».
But the novelties at Fontana do not stop there: the brand new gas pizza oven project designed for the family, called 'Maestro', it is in fact a candidate for the Red Dot Design Award, the most famous European prize in terms of aesthetics and functionality.
Fontana Forni, the desire to combine updated traditional forms and new icons of pizza ovens. And the results are top of the class!
