The "suspended meal", a solidarity initiative in favor of those in need born during the past Christmas holidays. The project, launched with the 'suspended lasagna' will continue throughout 2023 in Milan and Pavia thanks to a path of participatory sustainability. The initiative aimed at people who live in conditions of extreme hardship is by Planeat.eco, platform and benefit company created to combat food waste.
In fact, it offers its range of quality product kits portioned, washed and dosed for cooking, all at affordable prices. The solidarity activity, similar to that of the suspended coffee in Naples, it consists of paying and offering a dish, a drink or an expense to a stranger in difficulty to be consumed at a later time.
The suspended meal
The announcement of the "Suspended Meal" extension will be made official on 3 February during the conference "Let's eat the future with zero waste" in the Spazio Zero of the Horti of the Borromeo College in Pavia. The initiative is extended on the occasion of the national day against food waste on February 5th. It provides that among the choice options of the 400 dishes on the Planeat.eco platform, the option "leave a meal suspended" will appear.
It will be a possibility that will be offered both to those who are ordering for their family or company but also to those who choose to go to the Planeat platform just to give as a gift. The donations collected will be collected on a special page of the site as well as the dishes delivered and those to be delivered will be reported on the same page.
