It was inaugurated in Piacenza, At the Ricci Oddi Modern Art Gallery, the exhibition dedicated to Gustav Klimt. Over 160 paintings, sculptures, graphic works and decorative art artefacts - from public and private collections - can be admired until 24 July.

Curated by Gabriella Belli and Elena Pontiggia, the exhibition “Klimt. The man, the artist, his worldHas already experienced a boom in bookings. Twenty-five thousand tickets sold in the first days, divided between 40 Emilia-Romagna schools, 150 groups and 9.500 individual reservations. The exhibition aims to celebrate the homecoming of the Portrait of a Lady. The painting, created by the Austrian artist between 1916 and 1917, was stolen in 1997 from the Ricci Oddi Gallery itself and later found in 2019. It is the famous portrait, the protagonist of this extraordinary exhibition.

Divided into different sections, the exhibition “Klimt. The man, the artist, his world " wants to tell one of the most exciting periods in the history of art of the early twentieth century, expressed through the life and career of father of the Viennese Secession. Visitors will therefore be able to admire various forms of expression of the Austrian artist. The first rooms are dedicated to works from the period in which Klimt was very close to his brother Ernst and fellow student Franz Matsch. Continuing, we enter a Gustav Klimt in the middle of the Viennese Secession, while subsequently we see the productions regarding silverware, jewelery, home furnishings up to posters and postcards.

Continuing with the sections, you arrive at the area that hosts the Beethoven frieze and the famous Portrait of a Lady, purchased by Giuseppe Ricci Oddi in 1925 and exhibited to the public in 1931. In the next section, here are the "companions" of Klimt Egon Schiele e Oscar Kokoshka. Together, they are considered the trio that managed to shake European art beyond convention in the early 900s. The i female bodies, real or mythological (the true centrality of Klimt's art) and the artist's work at Venice Biennale in 1910 and at the International Exhibition of Rome in 1911. These representations of an extraordinary period of European artistic history.
