"Laura Pausini - Pleased to meet you" was presented in Rome on the evening of Tuesday 5 April, in the presence of the whole cast. The actors of the docufilm? Maria Pia Timo (Faenza), Tamara Balducci (Rimini), Luca Lorenzi (Rimini) and Cesara Zeka (Novafeltria). Also on the red carpet is an endless parade of local stars, from Caterina Balivo to Eleonora Abbagnato. “From 2018 they asked me for a documentary about my life, but I always thought it wouldn't be that interesting. I wanted to do something special and I thought I'd answer a question I've been asking myself for 29 years. What would I have done if I hadn't become famous?": these are the words of Laura Pausini.
The idea of making a film about his life starts from this question - the artist declares -. A "normal" life until that evening almost thirty years ago when, on the stage of the Ariston, an eighteen year old Laura went up. As soon as she sang the first note of "Loneliness“, Everyone understood it: that girl would have had a long journey, made up of successes and satisfactions. It was that Sanremo in 1993 that changed Laura Pausini's life. Which, from then on, would see arenas packed with fans, millions of records sold, international awards won and a truly global fame. But what if she didn't? So here comes one parallel story to what we all know, a story written on a cell phone, which sees one Laura ceramist who runs the workshop while her son Marcello grows alone.
As stated by Pausini herself, the intention of the film was not to enhance one's career, but rather to convey the true values of life, values far from likes on social media, or from success and fame. Directed by Ivan Cotroneo, and produced by Endemol Shine Italy for Amazon Studios, il documentary film debuts on April 7 in 240 countries exclusively on Prime Video.
