As per tradition, also this December, the Sun 24 Hours has published the report with the ranking of Italian provinces where you live better. The first province by quality of life 2021 è Trieste. Silver medal instead goes to the province of Milano (which touched gold by a whisker). In third position is the province of Trento. Trieste and Milan got on the podium thanks to a variation, respectively, of +4 e +10 positions compared to 2020. Bologna, winner in 2020, collapses to sixth place. As already happened for the ranking of ItaliaOggi relative to the Italian cities where you live best, also in this case there is a great deal gap between Northern and Southern Italy. The final part of the ranking is in fact occupied exclusively by the provinces of Noon, with Crotone in last position.
News of the ranking of the provinces by quality of life 2021
To draw up his own 32nd ranking on the best provinces for quality of life 2021, the Sole 24 Ore were examined 90 indicators different. These were then divided into 6 different macro-areasThese are: wealth and consumption, business and work, environment and services, demographics and health, justice and security e culture and leisure. As regards the first two macro-areas, the primacy goes to the province of Milano. Oristano on the other hand, it ranks first in the environment and services category. Bologna wins the health category, Pordenone justice and, finally, Trieste (the overall winner) is first for culture and leisure.
Compared to the previous year, the newspaper had to make some changes necessary to be able to better realize its report. The data used are not based only on the previous year, but 28 of the 90 indicators refer to a more recent period (up to October 2021). This is due to theCovid-19 emergency. In fact, 2021 marked one small recovery compared to 2020, the year characterized by lockdown and other severe restrictions. To draw up a correct ranking, which took this recovery into account, it was therefore necessary to consider a wider period compared to the traditional 12 months.
TOP and FLOP
In top 10 of the Italian provinces where you live best, in addition to the aforementioned Trieste, Milan and Trento, there are (respectively) Aosta, Bolzano, Bologna, Pordenone, Verona, Udine, and Treviso. Parma, city with the best quality of life 2021, and its province, are located in al 12esimo place, immediately after Florence. Roma, is instead al 13esimo place, with a difference of +19 compared to 2020. Bad, indeed very bad, the Southern Italy. Sicilia, Puglia e Calabria are the regions whose provinces occupy the last ten places in the ranking. At the 98th position is situated SIRACUSA (which earns +7 compared to 2020), they follow Taranto, Caserta, Reggio Calabria, Catania, Caltanissetta, Vibo Valentia, Trapani, Foggia e Crotone.
Following the trend of the recent ItaliaOggi report, also in this case all southern provinces are found in the second half of the ranking. Unfortunately, many of these have also lost points compared to 2020 (with some exceptions). The situation for the southern provinces will be able to improve in the near future thanks to the aid of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan for Southern Italy or we have to get used to the idea that "lower than that there is only to dig"?
