Is it possible to have the Sistine Chapel in front of one's eyes? The answer is yes, but to be able to experience this unusual and special experience, you need to undertake a long journey. Michelangelo's works have in fact arrived in New York.
It is good to reassure everyone. There has been no attempt on the history of art. It is a series of full-scale reproductions included in an exhibition entitled "Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel: The Exhibition". An experience that is attracting more and more onlookers. A traveling show inaugurated in New York, specifically in SoHo. A truly unique look at timeless treasures that can be admired live in Vatican City.

The very concept of being able to appreciate a masterpiece of this caliber before one's eyes, so close, and not through a digital screen, is inconceivable. It goes beyond everything we know about the Sistine Chapel, as harmonious and imaginary as powerful as it is unattainable. It forces us to keep our necks stretched and our faces turned upwards.
All this does not happen in this surprising exhibition, since an accurate reproduction has been created, using high definition images, obviously authorized, but above all a special technique that allows the finished work to look like a real fresco, or in any case something that reproduces this effect in an excellent way. It is not, therefore, a gigantic photograph on display, to clarify the concept in a simple way.
It is therefore possible for the public to analyze the details of the Sistine Chapel up close, appreciating the stretch of Michelangelo, discovering the brushstrokes and the fullness of the colors of the fresco. The attention to the original work is maximum, as also demonstrated by the arrangement of the panels. An attempt was made to remain faithful to the creative will of the Master, with the Last Judgment placed at the end.
The comments to the exhibition
Regarding this reproduction and, in general, the exhibition, he expressed himself Martin Biallas, CEO of SEE Global Entertainment in Los Angeles: “I had the opportunity to visit the Sistine Chapel about eight years ago. I had to queue up and struggle with the other visitors. It was not possible to take pictures and the frescoes are so high that it is quite difficult to admire them properly. So I came up with the idea of creating an exhibition to 'bring' those works closer to the public ”.
"Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel: The Exhibition" has already opened its doors in several American cities. However, he did not obtain the rights for Italy. Biallas explained that it was not his intention to create something like “Experience Van Gogh”, or games of light designed to generate a digital and sensorial experience. He thought of doing everything the old way, so to speak. He initiated a recreation of the frescoes, as much as possible, using technology to protect their accuracy.
“Without detracting from the original, I believe the exhibition has the double advantage of bringing the work closer to those who are not aware of it and to those who cannot go to Italy. You can also take pictures, unlike in Vatican City. It is the joy of anyone who cannot help but post photos on social media ”.
