With the reopening, the first weekend at the Uffizi gallery registered a real boom in attendance. 8.376 entries were registered between the Uffizi, Palazzo Pitti and the Boboli Gardens: 4.663 chose the Uffizi museum, 3.254 decided to go for a walk in the Boboli park, 459 entered the Pitti Palace. Not only the uffizi, the first reopening of the other sites with free admission
And for a few weeks, also to encourage visitors, the most beautiful places in Florence have been opened with free admissions. Like the Opera di Santa Maria del Fiore from 22 May, the day of reopening, until the end of May: in 24 hours over 10 thousand reservations and in particular Giotto's Bell Tower. And so over 27 people registered from 22 to 30 May. At the end of the period of free admissions, try to return to normal: but for the moment the monuments and the opera museum of the Duomo will be accessible only by reservation, on weekends.
At Michelangelo's David reduced tickets
A similar procedure has been adopted for visits to Michelangelo's David: over 2 visitors to the Accademia Gallery, reopened on 2 June with a reduced ticket from 12 to 8 euros and with 50 visitors at a time. "Numbers are not relevant - said director Cecilie Hollberg - in this phase in which we all have to regain confidence and hope in a normality to be regained. For me it was important to hear from visitors that the visit is very well organized and they felt safe ". Thousands of reservations also in the Basilica of Santa Croce on the reopening day. The complex will be open every weekend for free until 24 June, the special opening day for the patron saint's day.
