Giancarlo Zenato, abstract painter master of ego-painting. Born in Adria in Veneto 69 years ago, the artist boasts over half a century of brilliant career with exhibitions and reviews held all over the world. Very reluctant to use social media, there are many printed publications on the expression and artistic technique of him. Over the years he has obtained prestigious awards and has also been included in the Modern Art Yearbook of contemporary artists.

Ego-painting

For critics and experts, Zenato is the 'creator of ego painting. It is a technique of bleaching, defibrating, and recoloring of paper pages already painted with different inks. In the next phase, thanks to ego-painting, the pages are reborn to new life. New works that emerge after a careful choice of colors, not following any pre-established scheme. Overall, the finished work is the result of the speed of execution and the chromatic miscellany which gives uniqueness and originality to the work itself.

They say about him

“Giancarlo Zenato is a suffered artist, with a troubled and unusual human path. What he represents in the canvases has been intimately and with global participation elaborated in the depths of the soul. By reading his works, we make him the heart of each of us". (Paolo Ettore Forzato Arcioni - historian)

If you want to give a rational interpretation to that part of Giancarlo Zenato's art, which he himself called 'ego painting', one runs the risk of depriving him of genuineness. I believe that his works can be understood and recorded outside of a precise and clear interpretation. A sense of evanescence and immortality pervades the artist's paints, of absolute emptiness at the same time, of the psychedelic, of the metaphysical. Of tremendously earthly as infinitely divine". (Gianni Piva - art critic).
