Preview of the documentary film "Bronzi di Riace - The rediscovered treasure", co-produced by the Calabria Region and Calabria Film Commission together with the 42nd parallel. The filmed work will be visible from December 16 on RaiPlay; and, again on the 16th on Raitre in the late evening, with a repeat on December 30th at 15 pm, on the same network. The production is part of the Raiplay docu-series "Ossi di sepia".

"The Riace Bronzes represent the most significant cultural attraction that Calabria has and one of the most important attractions in the whole country" said Rosario Varì, Councilor for Culture of the Calabria Region. "The occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of the discovery offered the Calabrian regional government the opportunity to communicate and enhance their artistic value, beauty, and to fuel the mystery that surrounds them and consequently their charm. With this extraordinary documentary film – underlined Vari – produced for RaiPlay, once again the Bronzes travel around the world and all of Calabria. The regional council and the regional council want to accompany them on a lasting journey towards their knowledge".

“Calabria deserves to be known in the world through these very important works”. Thus the extraordinary commissioner of the Calabria Film CommissionAnton Giulio Grande which highlighted: “This documentary film is part of a series of cultural initiatives promoted to celebrate this important anniversary. We have chosen to create a cultural product like this which is a bit the sum of what the Bronzes represent. They are an important heritage, a symbol of the region, a synthesis of ethics and aesthetics that merge”.

Grande then reiterated: “We are satisfied with the initiatives that are being implemented, such as the conference at Milan Triennale, which saw Calabria present for the first time. We are also making cinematographic works that underline the concept of beauty together with that of enhancing the artistic and cultural heritage". The docu-film directed by Gabriele Ciances and Giulia Baciocchi, sees as authors Alessia Arcolaci, Josella Porto and Giorgia Furlan who is also project manager. The filmed production makes use of the participation of Swamy and Grecia Rotolo, former interpreters of "To Chiara” film by Jonas Carpignano which has obtained great acclaim from the public and critics.
