Honorary citizenship by the Sicilian city

In fact, she took the opportunity to reach the island and to rediscover her origins. Her maternal grandfather was called Giuseppe and he emigrated to America around 1916. The representatives of the provincial government gave her honorary citizenship. It was 2006 and on that occasion Susan Sarandon had also photographed the house where her grandfather had lived. It had also received the “Ragusani nel mondo” award.
As reported by some newspapers of the time, the American actress entered her grandfather's house and remembered his family. The grandfather at 15 had left Sicily. In America he then married an Italian woman and their daughter was Susan's mother, Lenora Marie.
