Strega Prize for Poetry. Ten years after the establishment of the Young Strega Prize and the European Strega Prize, a new important piece has been added to the constellations of awards orbiting around the Strega Prize. Without forgetting the one dedicated to Girls and boys, that focus on the promotion of reading and meet the interest of an increasingly broad and stratified public.
Witch Poetry Award
Promoted by Maria and Goffredo Bellonci Foundation and Strega Alberti Benevento in collaboration with Bper Banca, the Strega Poesia Prize will be awarded annually to a poetry book written in Italian, first published between 1 March of the previous year and 28 February of the current year. Specifically, for the first year the terms of validity are January 2022-February 2023).
The Scientific Committee is composed of Maria Grazia Calandrone, Andrea Cortellessa, Mario Desiati, Elisa Donzelli, Roberto Galaverni, Valerio Magrelli, Melania Mazzucco. Stefano Petrocchi, Laura Pugno, Antonio Riccardi, Enrico Testa and Gian Mario Villalta. It will have the task of selecting the five finalist works, which will be announced in May. While a large jury, made up of cultural personalities, will determine the winning work in October. The members of the scientific committee and the jury will remain in office for one year and can be reconfirmed.
