I Telegatti are back. They did it on the occasion of the 70th birthday of TV Smiles and Songs, a magazine that - for Italy - is a sort of icon.
How are the new Telegatti
After a fourteen-year break, the Telegattis present themselves in a green and completely new version. The famous award, remembered by all in the version in pure gold plated bronze, in fact, he retired. To replace the old statuette is a Telegatti with a brand new look, made by Cracking Art (collective of artists already known for its maxi fluorescent sculptures in regenerated materials). No metals, therefore, but recycled plastic in three different colors: yellow, blue and fuchsia. It will be received by the personalities of music, cinema, entertainment and sport between now and the end of 2022, when a final event of great impact is expected.
It's not just the look that's changing - the new figurine will have an all-new functionality and mode. As explained by Aldo Vitali, director of Tv Sorrisi e Canzoni, the Telegatto evolves as the world evolves. Unlike past versions, in which it was delivered in a single evening as a prize of a sort of competition in distinct categories, the new Telegatto will be delivered at different times of the year, thus becoming a real recognition of merit. The first to receive it was the "king of Italian rock" Vasco Rossi.
Who better than Blasco could celebrate the great return of the legendary statuette, after all? Vasco not only turns 70 as Sorrisi. But, as Vitali recounts, he represents - just like the magazine - a bridge between generations. Everyone listens to him, and everyone loves him.
