Waiting for the Italian cinemas to reopen their doors - from 15 June, with limited admissions and online reservations - the moviement village, an initiative with national coverage that aims to create a network between all arenas summer holidays in Italy. There are already about a hundred in operation in urban centers and the aim is to reactivate another eighty among those currently abandoned. The goal is to reach for the summer at least 200 structures open air operational.
Moviement Village is one spin off di moviement, a project that, with the support of the Mibact Cinema General Management since 2019, promotes the programming of major titles throughout the year, including the summer, and the enhancement of the cinema as an irreplaceable place in life of a movie. Designed by ANEC, Anica (distributors and producers section) and the David di Donatello Academy of Italian cinema, Moviement Village benefits from the patronage of Anci and the support of Anac, 100Autori and Nuovo Imaie. To underline, if there were any, the interest aroused by this initiative necessary for the relaunch of an exhausted sector, the participation in the project of the Presidia Book Association, the Italian Booksellers Association and Cepell (Center for Book and Reading) .
It is estimated that in the months of lockdown more than 6 thousand operators have been suspended from work. More than 4000 screens closed. And The box office recorded a loss of 120 million euros. Thanks to the Moviemente Village arenas, we want to support as much as possible a sector (the film industry) in crisis even before the Covid-19 alarm. For every 100 activated arenas, it is estimated that 600 direct workers will be employed and up to 3000 thanks to the generated activities.
A selection of titles scheduled to be released before the emergency will be scheduled this summer, plus a series of institutional events, cultural special. The offer will further diversify by including, as an exception, titles originally intended for digital platforms.
Francesco Rutelli, president of Anica, announces that the project will be operational from July. In the coming weeks, all health protocols will be specified in detail. It will be clear to the public that Moviement Village will protect their health without any discount, offering pressing sanctifications and a guarantee of distancing Commitment.
Of course the outdoor arenas they cannot replace the sale film. Exhibitors and enthusiasts are still hoping for their relaunch. Only in the room will the rest be programmed blockbuster most anticipated: Tenet by Christopher Nolan for example, or Mulan in live action version. The utmost caution is reserved among the technical-scientific managers. For each room, however, it will be necessary to study the ad hoc solution that best reconciles the health adjustment costs (the alternation between free and occupied seats, above all) with an entrance cost that is not discouraging.
