Lake Como, a landscape rich in history

Reaching the shores of the lake one is fascinated. For its vastness but also for its characteristics. Suggestive villages, splendid villas await visitors. The history of the lake and its fortifications

During the Middle Ages Lake Como became a gateway for trade between northern and southern Europe. In strategic positions, various fortifications were built to defend the territory and the population. Among them are the Baradello Castle in Como and the Rezzonico Castle in San Siro. And again the Castle of Corenno Plinio and the Torre di Orezia in Dervio. In Lecco the Viscontea Tower, the Rossino Castle in Calolziocorte, the Innominato Castle in Vercurago and the Brivio sull'Adda Castle.
