There are news that, to read them, make you smile. And they even leave a little incredulous. Among these, there is one that really has the flavor of the past. When letters were sent, text messages did not exist, and one had to hold a pen to greet, thank, inform. Queen Elizabeth replied to the boys of an Italian school and this, yes, which is one of those news that makes a smile arise.

Why did Queen Elizabeth answer the children of an Italian school?

It all started when Buckingham Palace announced the death of Philip of Edinburgh on 9 April. News, that of the death of the prince consort, who went around the world. And it prompted many private citizens and many schools to offer their condolences to Queen Elizabeth. Thus, the sovereign, he chose to answer those letters one by one, wherever they came from. He did so even when, in his hands, he found the letter from 3F of the Altichiero middle school in Zevio (Verona). "I send you my sincere thanks for your kind words regarding my husband's death", he wrote.

"The pupils of the 3 F have always shown themselves attentive to the Anglo-Saxon culture" has explained Paula Tonoli, their English teacher. It was she who managed the exchange of letters, and made sure that the boys could present the reality in which they live to the queen, with the hope of being able to compare it with the British one. Unfortunately, by now, the pupils have split up in the chosen high schools. And they couldn't share their joy all together. However, the professor sent each of them the letter via WhatsApp.
