It is one of the most beautiful cities in eastern Sicily. And it will be the setting for a highly anticipated series that can be seen on Paramount + in April. Ragusa Ibla in the next few days will host the filming of the miniseries "The Offer" spin off of the famous film with Marlon Brando "The Godfather". The film will tell the story and background of the making of Francis Ford Coppola's film. The protagonist will be actor Justin Chambers, known to the general public for having played the role of Dr. Karev in "Grey's Anatomy".

The Offer, filming in the historic center

This year marks the fiftieth anniversary of the film's theatrical release and Paramount is restoring the three films. Shooting in Ragusa Ibla will be on January 20 and 21. The miniseries, made up of 10 episodes lasting about an hour, will be filmed by the company “360 Degrees Film srl”. And to accommodate the crew, the city is preparing with traffic restrictions in the areas that will be affected by the shooting.

In addition to Justin Chambers, there will also be Burn Gorman, Patrick Gallo, Josh Zuckerman. Dan Fogler will take on the role of Coppola, Patrick Gallo those of Mario Puzo, author of the novel. Trthe other actors involved also Lou Ferrigno, Giovanni Ribisi and the sons of art Jake Cannavale and Colin Hanks. And many others who will play the various characters that revolved around the making of the film. The miniseries is directed by Michael Tolkin. Ten episodes that tell the making of the film from the point of view of producer Al Ruddy (played by Miles Teller). Ruddy was the producer who strongly believed in the film project, based on the novel of the same name by Mario Puzo. The film it was first shown in 1972. It was a worldwide success and Marlon Brando won the Oscar.

The release date of the “The Offer” project is April 28th. Instead, the restored film will be screened in the United States from 25 February. It will arrive in Italy on March 22nd.
