After being approved last 12 March byEMA, a date is finally planned for Johnson & Johnson vaccine in Italy. The drug of the US company will arrive in our country on 16th April. To confirm it is Gianmarco Medusei, president of the Regional Council of Liguria, who received the news from the general Francesco Paolo Figliuolo, extraordinary commissioner forCovid-19 emergency, during a meeting in the Ligurian capital, on the occasion of the inauguration of the maxi-hub to the Genoa Fair. In the second quarter of 2021 Italy should receive approximately 7,3 million doses of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, with more to come 20 million within the end of the year.

Johnson & Johnson is fourth anti-Covid vaccine approved by EMA and AIFA afterwards Pfizer, Modern e AstraZeneca. The Johnson & Johnson vaccine in Italy could be essential for a faster return to normal, especially in view of the summer. The Prime Minister Mario Draghi and general Figliuolo they promised a vaccination plan from 500 thousand inoculations per day, but without the Johnson & Johnson drug, this could all be just a pipe dream. If the US company were to comply with the terms of deliveries, as well as Pfizer, AstraZeneca and Moderna, an acceleration of the vaccination plan already end of April it would be possible. Now all that remains is to wait for the arrival of the new vaccines of the US company in our country.
