It simply is a human, intimate and loving portrait of the Pantani-man, just as the eyes and the heart of those who loved him saw and experienced him. Produced by Okta Film with Rai Cinema, and distributed to cinemas by Nexo Digital, the film will be in theaters only from 18 to 20 October.

Santolini's film is not the only one made on Marco Pantani. Among the last there is "The Pantani case ", a docu-drama by Domenico Ciolfi, which tackles the theme with an investigative tone. The director starts from a thesis, the Pirate was killed twice, to tell two injustices: exclusion from the Giro d'Italia in 1999 and death. However, "The Best" is the most human, most emotional, truer film about a man become a myth.
