The San Michele Arcangelo Choir of the Oristano Police Headquarters was born in 2018 from an idea of Dr. Rita Cascella, at the time Vicar of the Police Headquarters of Oristano today in Treviso. The enthusiasm of wanting to write a beautiful institutional page of the Oristano Police Headquarters has pushed Marcello Lochi to form the San Michele Arcangelo Choir, involving various agents between women and men, thanks also to the close collaboration of his colleague Daniel Rocchi.

The Choir is made up of 14 agents: Marcello Lochi (Conductor-piano / organ) Daniele Rocchi (Guitar), Fabio Melis (Guitar), Monica Marongiu, Monica Spanu, Gabriella Zoccheddu, Claudia Putzolu, Laura Serpi, Marina Pirri, Sabrina Mannu, Gianfranco Nurchis, Moris Lai, Antonino Cocco, Pierpaolo Pau and Giuseppe Cotza.

Chorus of San Michele Arcangelo during the performance

The choir is now in the Vatican for ageneral audience, that of June 22, where he animated a liturgical moment with a song to the Madonna in Sardinian language "Deus te Salvet Maria". We interviewed Daniele Rocchi who, after the exciting performance, released this statement to our correspondent, for italiani.it Antonella Marchisella.

"Today the Choir is in Piazza del Vaticano at the Pope's audience. We had the honor of animating a small liturgical moment and I think it is the greatest experience we have had since this choir was established. An experience as people, but also as representatives of the State Police. The choir has a value for what it represents, that is the will on the part of each member to affirm, in a different key, the high moral and civil values of the State Police and the commitment to honor the uniform we wear every day in the service of community. In our opinion, the choir wants to be a further instrument of closeness to the citizens and an important conjunction in the wake of the motto that distinguishes the State Police or to always be among the people, therefore, addressed to all the communities we live ".
