Deep voice and pats on the back, Antonino Cannavacciuolo he is one of the most popular chefs of recent years, as well as one of the most loved faces on TV. Born on 16th April a Vico Equense (Naples) in 1975, the starred chef turns off today 46 candles. It landed on the small screen in 2013 with programs such as Hells Kitchen, 'O my sea e Masterchef, Cannavacciuolo was immediately appreciated by the general public. The secret of his success is not only to be found in the beauty, accuracy and simplicity of his dishes, but also in his own sympathy. Precisely for this reason he became one of the leading characters of the comedian Angelo Pintus, who manages to imitate her voice to perfection.

Before being a television personality, Antonino Cannavacciuolo is still one multi-starred chef who takes his job very seriously. This is given above all by the long apprenticeship in local and foreign kitchens (e.g. in Alsace, in the North of France) before his worldwide success as a chef. His cuisine is made and made from simple ingredients linked to tradition, without however rejecting innovation. The "secret ingredients" of Cannavacciuolo are however love for cooking , passion for your work. To quote the chef from Campania himself: "Cooking does not just mean reading a recipe: it is a question of sensitivity, respect for ingredients and preparation times».

Antonino Cannavacciuolo: from Villa Crespi to the new resorts in Campania and Piedmont

At the end of the 90s Antonino Cannavacciuolo and his wife take over the famous Villa Crespi, Orta San Giulio, on the lake Orta. In a few years the restaurant has received well two Michelin stars, the first in 2003 and the second in 2006. In the following years the chef will open other restaurants and bistros in Piemonte, as the Cannavacciuolo Café & Bistrot di Novara and Cannavacciuolo bistro di Torino, both awarded with one Michelin star. The future projects of the chef from Campania, however, are aimed at his native land. The first concerns the opening of a restaurant, called «Lake Countryside»In his manor house in Ticciano, a fraction of Vico Equense. It is a father's dream Andrea (chef too) that Cannavacciuolo wanted to create. It is not just a restaurant, but a real one 6 room resort.

Laqua Countryside in Vico Equense will be a special place for the Chef, who has always been linked to tradition and family. In addition to the culinary offer, made up of products and perfumes from his childhood, the rooms of the resort will bear the name of the members of his family who really lived in those rooms: "Grandmother's room", "Annarella's room", "Handyman's room" , "Curate's room", "Marina's room" and "Mad Uncle's room"). The resort will also be equipped with an indoor swimming pool and a wine tasting cellar and a spa. Still in Campania, Antonino Cannavacciuolo and his wife will open "Aqua by the Sea" at Meta of Sorrento, resort with 6 rooms e spa area. Finally, the latest project of 2021 concerns "Aqua by the Lake" at Pattenasco, always on Lake Orta. Unlike the previous resorts it will have 16 rooms and a mostly based menu freshwater fish.

Cannavacciuolo: the gentle giant with a heart of gold

Antonino Cannavacciuolo is a tireless chef and television personality. Between a commitment in the kitchen and one on TV, he still manages to find time for the solidarity. For example, on 11 April he took part in the brigade of 30 chefs that Torino, on the occasion of the event "Lunch in Mille" of the Food Bank of Piedmont, they have prepared a thousand meals in delivery, to be delivered to families in difficulty. Last December he also fell ill with Covid-19 "Without realizing it" (according to the chef himself), confusing the mild symptoms experienced by the effects of detox diet he was following. The choice to open three new resorts in one particular period like the one marked by the coronavirus is risky, but courageous, which could lead the way for the post-pandemic relaunch catering (and tourism) in Italy.
