Today’s data, April 16, bode well for the future, especially considering the number of patients hospitalized with symptoms and in intensive care.
The spread
Today there are 3,786 daily infections, a higher number compared to the past few days, but it is the result of a record on swabs. Today, in fact, 60,999 swabs have been analyzed. 6.2% tested positive, yesterday it was 6.1%.
Other important data
Today there are 1,189 new positive cases, out of a total of 106,607. Favorable data about people healed: 2,072 today. The growth rate of the epidemic curve rises (2.29%), that is how the growth in percentage terms of the total cases varies day by day. This figure certainly depends on the high number of swabs.
News from hospitals
The excellent trend continues for ICU patients and patients with symptoms. 2,936 patients are hospitalized in intensive care units, 142 patients – out of the total – less than yesterday. And a substantial drop can be observed in patients with symptoms, which reach a total of 26,893, -750 since yesterday.
Death tool
The daily death tool continues to be high, despite it has slightly declined today. 525 people passed away. Unfortunately, this figure will be the last one fall, being a consequence of the contagions of the previous weeks.
