Who has never dreamed of spending a day as a tourist in the wonderful capital of Italy: Rome. A city rich in history, of unique testimonies and culture. Being able to choose only five things to visit absolutely in Rome is difficult but I want to try. I have prepared for you a selection of the five wonders of Rome.
The Colosseum
We are talking about the largest amphitheater ever built by man as well as one of the major symbols of the city.
It is said that when the Colosseum falls, the eternal city will also fall, bringing the whole world with it.
Inside there were fights between gladiators and beasts or it was a place of simulations for naval battles.

Timetable: the Colosseum is open every day from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm (closing time varies according to the period of the year).
Ticket price: € 12.00 (€ 7.50 reduced). The ticket includes the entrance to the Palatine Hill and the Roman Forum.
Pantheon
The majestic dome and the famous colonnade make it a symbol of the city of Rome. This building was dedicated to all gods as its name suggests. It was commissioned by the emperor Hadrian around 120 AD.
In the beginning it was a pagan temple but, in 609 AD it was converted to a Christian Basilica. Since 1870 the Pantheon has become the place where sovereigns of Italy or great artists were buried, we can mention: Vittorio Emanuele II, Umberto I, Margherita di Savoia and Raffaello Sanzio.
The ideal time to visit the Pantheon is between 11:00 and 13:00 because the rays of the sun that come in create a beautiful cascade of light.

Trevi Fountain
How not to mention among the five best things to absolutely visit in Rome the Trevi Fountain. After a path of narrow streets in the capital you arrive right in front of one of the most famous fountains in the world.
As you can discover it is just like you always imagined it: crowded, sumptuous and the representation of the Dolce Vita. Every tourist who passes by throws a coin and expresses a wish! Ready to experience thrill?

The Altar of the Nation
During the period of fascism it was the center of the demonstrations called by the regime, today it is a symbol of national identity as well as artistic and cultural.
Timetable: Monday to Thursday from 9:30 am to 6:30 pm. From Friday to Sunday and on holidays from 9:30 to 19:30.
Ticket price: € 7.00 (reduced € 3.50)
Vatican Museums
The Vatican Museums are located within the Vatican State, the smallest state in the world. Inside it works and treasures that the Roman Catholic Church has received and collected over the centuries are guarded. Sculptures, paintings and works of art are for the most part given away by sovereigns from every part of the planet. The Vatican Museums are one of the richest museum complexes in the world and include an art gallery that collects works by Raphael, Caravaggio and Leonardo da Vinci.
How not to mention the very famous Sistine Chapel by Michelangelo.
Timetable: Monday to Saturday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Closed on Sundays except the last Sunday of each month from 9:00 to 12:30.
