An induced that gives work to many people and that moves billions of euros. Not just fashion shows: Milan is also the capital of fashion stores, jewelers’ shops and antique dealers. Many side events take place in the ancient buildings of the center. Museums, cafés, cinemas and even bookshops become exclusive locations to host events regarding the world of fashion.

The streets of luxury

At the center of the city, the most exclusive shopping streets form what everyone calls the “quadrilateral of fashion” that is concentrated between Corso Venezia, via Montenapoleone, via Manzoni and via della Spiga. To shop in the showrooms and boutiques of these streets, or just to admire the windows that are also high-end creations, shopping lovers really come from all over the world.

These are the ‘fashion streets’ of the great designers, the emblazoned brands that the whole world envies like Armani, Versace, Valentino, Fendi, Prada, Dolce & Gabbana and many others. Names that have made and continue to make fashion history; expression of that “made in Italy” that is imposed from one pole to the other on the planet.

Sustainability, fashion and the future of the planet

Sustainability. In recent years, the Italian National Chamber of Fashion has placed sustainability as one of the basic factors of the whole ‘fashion system’. The goal is to rethink the future of the planet and fashion thanks to a path that allows to reach the highest standards of sustainability. Even in the “fashion company” the productive, environmental and social factors must safeguard the correct exploitation of resources and must well guide the orientation of technological development.

In this process, the Italian National Chamber of Fashion has involved associates and operators representing the Italian fashion style supply chain. With this in mind, we intend to support companies and crafts excellences that invest in the development of new technologies applied to fashion. Business capacity and innovation together, therefore, to maintain the leadership of luxury but also to safeguard the beauty of creation.
