Music takes the field to help Italy against the coronavirus. #iplayfromhome is the solidarity musical project launched by Franco Zanetti, director of the Rockol website, immediately joined by Massimiliano Longo of Allmusicitalia. Italian artists who have joined the initiative are many and are dedicating live mini-concerts on social networks to entertain the public at home: from Gianna Nannini to Ermal Meta, Mahmood, Rocco Hunt.
But not only that. Even better is the launch of the fundraising campaign that will be donated to intensive care where coronavirus patients are hospitalized. Everyone would love to spend a few hours listening to good music. A calendar has also been drawn up with all the concerts available day by day. The list is constantly updated.
#iplayfromhome, concerts start
#Iplayfromhome project was promptly joined by many important digital newspapers from the musical world: Frequenzaitaliana, Musicadalpalco, Newsic, Ondefunky, Onstage e Optimagazine. In a note the organizers explain that the idea was born “to give maximum visibility to the many spontaneous initiatives that are springing up around Italy” in this moment of covid19 emergency. In fact, many artists have already organized “home” concerts on social networks. An idea to “replace” as far as possible the live concerts that are currently suspended throughout Italy after the restrictions imposed by the government to stem the pandemic.
Here’s how to participate
The #Iplayfromhome initiative is open to everyone. However, those who decide to participate will have to respect certain conditions. First of all, the artist should include the hashtag #iosuonodacasa in the communication he sends through the press, radio, TV or social media. The he should communicate the day and time of the home performance to the email address [email protected]. This will give the opportunity to update the agenda with all the concerts in real time. The calendar will be available on all the musical sites that gave birth to the project and that will also be freely usable by other information sites by citing the hashtag #iosuonodacasa.
Text messages of solidarity
The goal of the musical project is not just to make us spend some time happily. Another even more ambitious mission is to solicit and collect little donations via sms from spectators of “home” concerts. The funds raised are intended to increase the beds in the intensive care unit of the Niguarda Hospital in Milan involved in the coronavirus emergency. Italian National Singers Association has granted #iosuonodacasa the use of its supportive number 45527, which from Saturday 14 March will collect donations via telephone (also with the hashtag #iodonodacasa).
The value of the donation is 2 euros for each text message sent from your smartphone. Donations can also be made from the landline always at 45527 and it is possible to donate 5 or 10 euros. During their concert “from home”, the artists will have to make every effort to make the support phone number visible so that viewers can make donations. Another nice initiative that will help us better face the moment of crisis that Italy is experiencing and to help hospitals committed to stem the covid19.
